Trustee Association, Zug
Trust, professional ethics and integrity play just as central a role in the fiduciary sector as professional qualifications. The Trustee Association, Zug has set itself the goal of making a significant contribution to maintaining and promoting the reputation of this profession in the area of Zug. Members are not only required to fulfil high standards in terms of professional training and practice. They also undertake to comply with ethical guidelines when practising their profession. On this basis, a relationship of trust with clients, authorities and third parties is sought and realised. In the complex environment of clients, authorities and numerous legal regulations, trustees must fulfil a wide range of interests. Qualification criteria for professionals in this service sector and the formulation of and compliance with professional ethical guidelines are therefore essential prerequisites for creating and maintaining credibility and trust.
A BENCHMARK FOR TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
The Trustee Association, Zug was founded in 1986. Its main objective is to act as a link between companies, administration and financial services to promote mutual trust and at the same time represent the interests of trustees in the Zug area. High requirements for membership and the obligation to comply with generally recognised professional ethical principles are at the forefront. Membership is generally open to all natural persons who are self-employed in the Canton of Zug or who work in the management of a company in the fiduciary sector. All members must have a higher education and at least three years of professional experience or other equivalent training and at least eight years of professional experience. Professional experience includes activities in the fields of bookkeeping and accounting, IT, tax and law, business consulting/organisation, auditing and asset management. In addition, the Articles of Association require an impeccable reputation and good repute for membership.
Each member undertakes to comply with the professional code of conduct of the Trustee Association, Zug. These essentially contain guidelines relating to independence, confidentiality, further training activities and standard market fees. Clients, authorities or third parties can therefore assume certain professional and ethical framework conditions when working with a Trustee Association, Zug member. If these requirements are no longer met, the Executive Board can exclude a member. The continuous professional development of members is another of the Trustee Association, Zug's concerns. In close cooperation with experts from the authorities or the industry, it organises seminars and information events for its members several times a year. The training of apprentices is also a focal point in this area. The association organises courses and provides teachers and examination experts.
The Trustee Association, Zug is an autonomous institution that is independent of supra-regional professional organisations. It sees its activities as complementary to other industry organisations.
